Senior Pastors Gary and Judy Mathis
Pastors Gary and Judy Mathis have been serving in the full time ministry for over 25 years. Our Pastors began Church Alive in 1991 in their own home. They met weekly with friends and neighbors on Sundays for worship, teaching of the Word, and ministry. After a few months, Church Alive leased its first building on Thousand Oaks. The church grew and flourished. Years later, Church Alive acquired 5 plus acres of land which included a finished church building. In May of 2004, Church Alive held its first services in the new building. But, it doesn't end there..... in 2009, bursting at the seams, Church Alive began the process of building a larger sanctuary with offices and nursery facilities.
Church Alive ministers through Sunday morning services, weekly small group meetings, Youth Alive ministries, Kids Alive ministries, volunteering at the SAMM shelter, outreaches throughout the community, and involvement in community functions. Our goal is to build the kingdom of God and build a stronger community in San Antonio.
